Never-ending GAS

December 23rd, 2009 § Leave a Comment

Gear Acquisition Syndrome, also known as, GAS, is a term used for musicians alike who urge to accommodate lots of gear, like guitars, effects, amps or what have you. I am a musician of my own and I have been GAS-ing for more than a year simply because I can’t afford all of these.

Let me enumerate.

Guitars: Squier Telecaster Custom, PRS SE Custom 22, Gretsch Electromatic Double Jet

Effects: Line 6 DL4, Boss TU-2 Tuner, Digitech Whammy, EHX Holy Stain

Amplifiers: Marshall MG50FX, Vox Amplug

GAAAAAAAAAS. Yes, that’s my list right now. I’m intending to get it one by one and if I’m already satisfied, joy. Don’t get me wrong, this is only a simple guitar setup, nothing complicated whatsoever. I have simple guitars, ranging fromPhp20k-40k, effects ranging from Php20-30k (All in all) and the amplifier, let’s say 15k. So there. All I need afterwards is a band! :D

Meanwhile, I have been searching how to avoid GAS as much as possible and found this article, which kinda helped me, somehow.

I would love to have at least one of the guitars this Christmas! Hehe! Oh btw, Merry Christmas Everyone!
